A weekend walk in the Carneddau

A few pictures from a two day hike through some of the best that North Wales has to offer, a few weekends ago...

We hiked up Carnedd Llewelyn after a pitstop night at gwern gof isaf campsite.

Ten minutes of wind and mist at the top, but other than that we enjoyed stunning views across the valley to Tryffan, The Glyders and Snowdon's summit.

We descended rapidly(!) into the Conwy Valley...

And opened up the Rugby Mountineering Club's Eigiau Cottage

No electricity, no phone signal... perfect.

We lit the stove to toast the place up, and I cooked up a big vegetable chilli....

And we settled in for the night...

Marlon couldn't resist an early morning swim (he never can!)

We climbed up out of the valley, past abandoned quarry workings

We marvelled the scale of the offshore windfarm

And were rewarded for our efforts with some stunning light over Llyn Cowlyd reservoir

More weekends like this please...
