Manthorpe Engineering

The nice people at Ouno Creative, who I'd worked with on a somewhat similar project for another Aerospace engineering company, asked me to produce a set of hero images, as well as a library of other industrial images, for Manthorpe Engineering, who among other products, make huge metal parts for the Aerospace industry, with amazing precision.

My main emphasis was on bright and dramatic images for a range of uses. Over busy and long couple of days, we got some really nice shots. Big thanks to my assistant Edd, and Art Director Simon.

For this image, in an incredibly dark spray booth, I needed both to have some light on the engineer's face, but balanced with the very dim green light as the sprayed on agent glowed from his ultraviolet torch. My flashes and even my torch were far too bright, so I put a piece of purple gel over the torch on my iphone, and had my assistant hold it!

These robotic arms move incredibly fast! This one plucks a plastic part, rotates and attaches other parts, and places it in a chute for packaging.
